Admission Information for Nursery Class (K1) 2026/27 Academic Year

Application Period: All year round (Please apply for the 2025-26 Registration Certificate for your child between September and November 2025)

How to Obtain Application Forms:

  1. Regarding admission details and school fees for the 2026-2027 academic year, parents can click "Download Form" to view them starting September 1st.

  2. Forms can be collected in person at the kindergarten during office hours starting September 1, 2025 (excluding Sundays and public holidays).

  3. The 2026-2027 New Student Application Form can be downloaded starting September 1, 2025.

How to Submit Forms:
Parents should complete the application form and submit it in person at the kindergarten or by mail to the school address (please call the school at 2553 5750 after posting to ensure successful delivery). Please attach the following documents:

  1. Photocopy of Birth Certificate

  2. Photocopy of Health Centre Vaccination Card

  3. 2 photos (approx. 3.5x4.5 cm, to be attached to the application form)

  4. 4 self-adhesive envelopes (110x220mm), with return address written and sufficient postage affixed

  5. Application fee of HK$40 (payable by cash/cheque) [Cheque payable to: "Aberdeen Baptist Church Bright Light Kindergarten"]

Submission Period: From September 1, 2025 to November 1, 2025 (excluding Sundays and public holidays)

Applying for the "Kindergarten Admission Registration Certificate":

  1. The Education Bureau (EDB) will use the "Kindergarten Admission Registration Certificate" as the registration document for K1 in the (2026/27) school year.

  2. Parents must apply to the EDB for the "2026/27 Kindergarten Admission Registration Certificate" (hereafter referred to as the "2026/27 Registration Certificate") for their child between September and November 2024. Applications for the "2026/27 Registration Certificate" will open in September this year. The EDB will announce application details, which will be uploaded to the EDB website (www.edb.gov.hk). If applicants provide all required information and documents upon submission, the EDB generally completes the process within six to eight weeks and issues the "Registration Certificate" by post to eligible applicants for subsidy under the scheme. If a child is eligible for education in Hong Kong but does not meet the eligibility criteria for the subsidy scheme and cannot obtain the "Registration Certificate", the EDB will issue a "Kindergarten Admission Permit" (hereafter referred to as the "Admission Permit") for the child. The child can register and study at a kindergarten participating in the scheme using the "Admission Permit", but the parent must pay the full tuition fee (before deduction of the scheme subsidy) as stated in the Fee Certificate of the kindergarten.

Admission Criteria:

  1. Interview performance

  2. Priority consideration will be given to applicants whose siblings are currently studying at this kindergarten

  3. For applicants applying for Whole-day Class / Extended Whole-day Class places, priority consideration will be given to those who require such services
    (Please note that due to limited places, not all applicants who meet the priority considerations will be offered a place.)

Interview Arrangements:

  1. The kindergarten will arrange interviews for all children applying for the Nursery Class.

  2. Interviews will be conducted on November 15, 2025 (Saturday). The kindergarten will notify parents by post.

  3. Interviews will be conducted individually.

  4. Parents must accompany their child to the interview.

  5. When interviewing non-Chinese speaking (NCS) children, if interpretation/translation services are required, please contact the kindergarten at 2553 5750. The kindergarten also allows NCS parents and children to be accompanied by a Chinese-speaking relative or friend to assist with communication.

Release of Admission Results:
The kindergarten will notify parents of the Nursery Class admission results by post on or before December 16, 2025.

Registration Arrangements:

  1. Offered Applicants (正選生): Parents must come to the kindergarten during the designated time between January 8 and 10, 2026 (the "Central Registration Dates") to complete registration procedures. They must submit the "Registration Certificate" / "Admission Permit" and pay the registration fee.

  2. Waitlisted Applicants (備取生): The kindergarten will issue a notification (via email/letter/other means), requesting parents to come to the kindergarten on the designated date to complete registration procedures. They must submit the "Registration Certificate" / "Admission Permit" and pay the registration fee.

  3. Parents please note: If the "Registration Certificate" / "Admission Permit" cannot be submitted on the designated registration date, the kindergarten may not be able to complete the procedures for the admitted child. Therefore, parents must apply to the EDB for the relevant registration documents within the specified period.

  4. The registration fee for the 2026/27 academic year is HK$970 (Half-day Class) / HK$1570 (Whole-day Class). If the child enrolls in the kindergarten, the registration fee will be refunded in September. However, if parents decide to transfer their child to another school after registration, they must notify the kindergarten in writing. The kindergarten will return the "Registration Certificate" / "Admission Permit" as soon as possible, but the registration fee will not be refunded. After retrieving the "Registration Certificate" / "Admission Permit", the kindergarten will no longer reserve the place for the child.

Admission Information for Nursery Class (N Class) and Infant Care Section for the 2025/26 School Year

Admission Procedure

Application Method

  • Expectant mothers can apply after a doctor confirms the pregnancy has reached 12 weeks.

  • Applications are accepted all year round. The application fee is $40.

  • The kindergarten will arrange interviews with parents and the child.

How to Obtain an Application Form

  • Obtain in person at the kindergarten.

  • Download from the website.

Documents Required for Application

Please submit the following documents along with the application form:

  • For unborn infants: Please attach proof of the expected due date.

  • Photocopy of the infant/child's Birth Certificate / Proof of Residence in Hong Kong.

  • Four stamped ($3.4 postage) return envelopes with the return address clearly written.

Submission Method

Please submit the application in person. After receiving the application form, the kindergarten will confirm receipt via a letter.

Admission Notification

Notification will be sent by postal mail.

Remarks:

  • If any information is revised, the Nursery will update the webpage. Parents are advised to check for updates periodically.

  • All personal data will be used solely for the purpose of this application. Submitted documents will not be returned.
